In a major strategic breakthrough, SAF regained control of Barah, Umm Garfa, Jabrah al-Sheikh, Ghabshan, and Umm Sayyalah.
As Rerum Novarum anticipated, the Joint Forces of Darfur's offensive—which we had called a 'diversion'—appears to have helped draw RSF manpower and resources away from the siege of El-Obeid. Facing the disaster in the al-Genina direction, West Darfur, the RSF was forced to redeploy forces from the El-Obeid direction, creating an opening that the SAF exploited to not only lift the siege but also break the RSF lines in North Kordofan.
