Al-Hayya's political background is closely tied to Hamas's original ideological roots, Sunni extremism and the broader Muslim Brotherhood movement. For instance, like his predecessor Sinwar, he initially opposed former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and supported the Sunni far-right groups in Idlib—today in power in Damascus—until Iranian mediation helped restore ties between Hamas and Syria in 2022.

🇺🇸🇮🇷⚡- Senior Iranian sources tell Reuters that mediators have proposed a 10-day ceasefire to the U.S.-Iran cycle of attacks, giving time to revive the Memorandum of Understanding.

The poll results for registered voters shows 60.4% support and 23.7% oppose.

These zones are planned to see the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and Lebanese military to take their place.

"Today, pilot zone operations began in the villages of Froun, Srifa, and Zawtar Al-Gharbiya in accordance with the Trilateral Framework and under the auspices of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon. This milestone is a direct outcome of last week’s discussions between Israel and Lebanon in Rome. The United States will continue working closely with both parties to implement the Framework to a successful conclusion" - US State Department.

🇱🇧🇮🇱 - Three experimental withdrawal zones, marked in yellow on Rerum Novarum's map. Two of the zones match our prediction in the past.

Note, of the three, only one is currently under Israeli control, Zawtar al-Gharbiya, Nabatieh direction, the smallest of the three zones.

The remaining two are not even under Israeli control, one being an important baseline along Froun, the other being the large town of Srifa - both in the Chehabiyeh direction.

Under the Lebanon-Israel framework agreement, if the Lebanese Armed Forces fail to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure, Israel would be within its right to re-enter the zones. In this case, Israel would be "re-entering" zones it currently does not control.
