Hamawy, a witness for the defense of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing terrorists and volunteer for an Al Qaeda front group in Bosnia, came out on top in an extremely crowded primary running solely on the Gaza issue. He had spent time in Gaza as a trauma surgeon.
