The 407-foot-tall rocket lifted off from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Boca Chica before completing a flight path around the globe toward the Indian Ocean.

After reaching roughly 115 miles above Earth using five of its six engines, Starship deployed 20 simulated Starlink satellites along with two modified Starlink satellites designed to scan the spacecraft’s heat shield and transmit imagery to collect data for future missions.

The test flight concluded about an hour later when Starship successfully survived atmospheric re-entry and splashed down nose-first in the Indian Ocean as planned.
