🇺🇬🇪🇬⚡- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi travelled to Uganda's Entebbe to meet his counterpart Yoweri Museveni. The two discussed Sudan and the Nile challenges. Egypt's el-Sisi in return has invited Museveni to the African Union's 8th mid-year June summit in el-Alamein, Egypt.

Relations between Uganda and Egypt are currently at a low point, with Uganda backing Sudan's Rapid Support Forces, and heads the anti-Egyptian CFA 'alliance', which has led to a new Nile River Basin Commission, one without Cairo's veto power.

During the talks, a fight erupted between the bodyguards of both Presidents.

Collington, along with 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr. whose body was recovered on May 9, went missing after falling into the ocean during a major training exercise earlier this month.

Noting that the Taiwan question is the most important issue in China-U.S. relations, Xi told Trump that if it is handled properly, the bilateral relationship will enjoy overall stability.

Otherwise, the two countries will have clashes and even conflicts, putting the entire relationship in great jeopardy, Xi said, emphasizing that 'Taiwan independence' and cross-Strait peace are as irreconcilable as fire and water" - Xinhua, Chinese State Media.

🇺🇸🇨🇳⚡️- The first round of US-China talks have ended.

🇺🇸🇨🇳⚡️- One of the things likely to be discussed is the $14 Billion dollar arms sale package to Taiwan and another $6 Billion dollar package, both of which Trump has not yet approved.

The larger package is mostly made up of advanced air defence systems and has been ready for President Trump's approval since March, and would be the largest US arms sales package to the small island of Taiwan, which is largely dependent on US military support for its defence. The smaller package, primarily comprising general defence assets, is also reportedly ready for Trump's approval.

Trump has been urged by some in Congress to approve the $14 billion package before his trip to China to avoid discussion of the deal, although these packages are now likely to be used as bargaining chips.
