By integrating the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's working definition of antisemitism into French law, the bill could classify comparisons between Israeli policy and the Third Reich as criminal hate speech. A new provision targeting "calls for the destruction of a state" could lead to slogans like "Free Palestine" being prosecuted as an advocacy for terrorism.

An online petition already gathered 150.000 signatures against the bill.
