🇺🇸🇻🇪⚡️- With Nicolás Maduro out of the picture, many assumed María Corina Machado would assume power as the rightful president of Venezuela. However, President Donald Trump repeatedly stated that she would not be in charge of the country because she did not “have the support needed.” Instead, a U.S.-led coalition would run the country until further notice.

Maduro’s regime remains intact. In Caracas, pro-regime gangs and militias have been deployed into the streets to maintain order. Maduro’s vice president, defense minister, and the Ministry of Transportation have all issued statements condemning the removal of Maduro and declaring they will refuse “U.S. imperialism.”

Many questions remain regarding how the United States will proceed with the next phase in Venezuela, particularly the removal of government and military officials appointed by Maduro, who—for now—have refused to negotiate with the United States.

They can be heard shouting: "The revolutionary forces of the people defending the Venezuelan President Maduro have been mobilized!"

I don’t care about arguments regarding the legality of the action or spurious connection to Israel, what matters to me is the breadth and scale of the political and military commitment to Venezuela.

Initially the reporting said there had been a settlement reached to deliver Maduro to the US, which was the sticking point in the deal reached by Caracas and Grenell in 2025. But since they unveiled this half-baked “plan” during the press conference, this sounds like a complete disaster.

Two things can be true at once; there are legitimate American interests in securing Venezuela (which we wholeheartedly support,) but it has to be done correctly.

Trump made a statement and then backtracked in the press conference, leaving more questions than answers. Given that the Venezuelan regime is still largely intact, it will take more than a US Special Forces insertion to get what we want, especially if it's primarily confined to counter-narcotics and oil ventures.

TLDR: We here at Rerum Novarum wholeheartedly and unapologetically support the mission of the US military in toppling, securing, and pacifying Venezuela, even if it results in a boots-on-the-ground invasion.

But we do not want a permanent situation where US forces are on the ground in perpetuity, like in Iraq or Afghanistan.

This must be done correctly.

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but not every war is for Israel or the Jews. Especially not Venezuela.

"The only legitimate president of Venezuela is Nicolás Maduro."

President Trump previously claimed they were in contact with Rodriguez about capitulating to US requirements.

🇺🇸🇻🇪⚡️- President Trump repeated that the United States would move towards a second phase of strikes if Maduro's VP and now current President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez did not capitulate and agree to US terms, as of now it seems that Rodriguez is refusing to agree to US terms and is demanding the release of Nicholas Maduro.

Troops on the ground in Venezuela are also a possibility if the current Maduro regime does not agree to an exchange of power making the United States the authority in Venezuela.

🇺🇸🇻🇪⚡️- Contrary to popular reports, Maduro's Vice President Delcy Rodriguez is IN Venezuela and has NOT fled to Russia, she has given a speech on Venezuelan television just now and has been sworn in as President of the country.

VP Delcy Rodríguez led the emergency response, flanked by her brother Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly. Both are the children of Jorge Antonio Rodríguez, a Marxist guerrilla and founder of the Socialist League, who was killed by the state in 1976.

Gen. Vladimir Padrino López — Defense Minister since October 2014, making him the longest-serving in that role. He currently carries a $15 million U.S. bounty.

Gen. Domingo Hernández Lárez — Commander of CEOFANB (Strategic Operational Command) since 2021, the highest operational military post, overseeing coordination of all armed forces.

Caryslia Rodríguez — President of the Supreme Court (TSJ) since January 2024. A former PSUV municipal politician and interim mayor of Caracas, she validated Maduro’s 2024 election victory on August 22 when majority believed it was stolen from Machado.

All of them have remained loyal to Nicolás Maduro throughout his tenure, and most—if not all—are ideologically aligned with Chavismo, also known as 21st-century socialism, some are considered to be more extreme than Maduro had been.
