EU MEPs have adopted a resolution that does not recognize the ruling Georgian Dream party's government after the October 26, 2024 parliamentary elections, including newly appointed President Kavelashvili. The EU will continue to consider Salome Zourabichvili as President.

The resolution also emphasizes that the only way out of the current crisis in Georgia is new parliamentary elections.

The resolution was adopted with 400 votes in favor, 63 against, and 81 abstentions.

Over the past 24 hours, FARDC have launched several airstrikes against M23 positions, with the majority of those strikes targeting Kalehe. M23 claims large civilian casualties in Kalehe from the FARDC airstrikes.
