High-level Russian delegation arrived in Damascus to launch a comprehensive dialogue on all issues on the agenda of both sides.

The delegation, headed by Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy FM and Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, includes representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence, officials in the government's economic sector, and a number of other institutions and sectors.

Preparations have been made for meetings with the head of the Syrian administration, Ahmad al-Sharaa, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani, and other officials of the new Syrian administration.

These will be Moscow's first official talks with the new Syrian leadership, after communication between the two sides was limited to closed military and diplomatic channels.
