Russian forces advanced to the center of Shakhtarskoe and Novoukrainka. Russian troops have captured Bogoyavlenka and have begun bypassing the massive Ukrainian defensive lines northeast of the town.

Further north, Russia has captured Katerinovka and fighting is ongoing in the center of Elizavetovka. Fighting is also reported at Pobeida's trench-lines west of the town.

Russia has captured an incredible 131.6 sqkm of area in two days in just the south Kurakhovo sector.

Ukrainian authorities claim the first line is almost complete, satellite imagery confirms their claim. The first line runs along the Donbass borders. A second line is being built from Pokrovskoe to Pavlograd. And the final line of defense is being constructed in front of the Dnepr river and its cities.

The construction of these lines indicate that Ukraine is preparing for the fall of Pokrovsk and with it the likely fall of the Donbass.
