The Russian crossing was confirmed to be just north of Chasov-Yar. Russian troops went south along 00506 highway, entering and capturing the first streets of October district.

The Ukrainian side confirmed the first, northern one, of the two large fortifications on the west bank of the canal have fallen, which is located along the October district.

The Russian 98th airborne unit reportedly used underground pipes to cross.

There are rumours that Russian troops entered the 'New' (Novo) district in the south, which are incorrect. Ukrainians refer to the entire eastern Chasov-Yar as the 'new' district.
