Johtokunta kokousti 16.6. ja kokouksessa käsiteltiin mm. seuraavia asioita:

- Suunniteltiin, miten Ristin kilta jatkossa tukee lähetyskohteita, koska lähetystilin rahat eivät riitä nykyiseen malliin.
- Päätettiin tukea Julia Latvalan lähetysmatkaa taloudellisesti.
- Pohdittiin vuosijuhlien järjestämistä, vuosijuhlavastaavia etsitään vielä. Perustettiin suunnittelua varten WatchApp-ryhmä.
- Mietittiin seuraavan lapinmatkan ajankohtaa ja varataan mökki lähiaikoina.
- Selviteltiin raamattuprojektin budjettia.
- Yritetään saada uutta Killan merchiä tilattua piakkoin.
- Muutettiin varastovastaavan rooli kiltahuonevastaavaksi.

A new academic year is upon us once again. For some, it’s their first; for others, perhaps their last. It’s time once again to build – our studies, friendships and all sorts of other things. What can we build together, and how? Let’s reflect on this, taking inspiration from the story of Nehemiah.

The Guild’s Wednesday evenings are back! What a wonderful opportunity to come together, both new members and those who’ve been with us before! The doors will open in good time at the club room at Servin Maijan tie 8, but the evening proper begins at 6.30 pm. The programme includes an introductory talk by our guest speaker, Aron Schulman, as described above, followed by a cosy get-together over an evening snack.

Bible-study evening

Why would you use your busy everyday life for a Bible study? What is a Bible study, or what could it be? Come and see if we can answer these questions, discuss the matter, and hear about the guild's Bible study groups. In the second part, we will try being in a Bible study group, that is, we will divide into groups to experience fellowship through the Bible, prayer, and discussion. The introduction will be given by the guild's own Joosua and Usva.

The evening will be held at the Guild of the Cross guildroom (Servin Maijan tie 8). Doors open at 6:15 PM, and the main program starts at 6:30 PM. The night will conclude with a free evening snack.

Päätimme perustaa uuden "yleis"TG-kanavan aktivoidaksemme keskustelua, yhteisöllisyyttä ja sisältämään lähinnä nykyiset toiminnassa käyvät. Next Tuesday offers a unique opportunity to find out more about the work of the Kylväjä mission organisation at their office. After the excursion, there’s also the chance to stay for their prayer evening at 6 pm, or to attend just one of the two events.

This week we are having another evening with a guest speaker Ilkka Puhakka. He is an evangelist who has served for a long time in the mission field, for example in Russia and Estonia. Ilkka comes to share with us about Jesus' teachings.

'We will take a journey back in time to the era of Jesus to hear him with the ears of those who originally listened to him. To see through their eyes and thereby understand what Jesus said.'

Syksy on saapunut ja se tuo jälleen mukanaan Ristin killan perinteisen syysleirin! Leiri pidetään tänä vuonna Velskolan kurssikeskuksessa 30.10-1.11. Se sijaitsee pohjois-Espoossa Nuuksion alueella osoitteessa Vääräjärventie 2. Kimppakyydit lähtevät Otaniemestä perjantaina (30.10) kello 16:00, mutta paikalle voi saapua myös omin keinoin.

Leirille osallistuminen maksaa noin ~40€ (kilta fukseille ~20€), ja hintaan sisältyvät majoitus ja ruokailut. Lopullinen hinta täsmentyy ja maksetaan leirin jälkeen. Leirillä on luvassa kaikenmoisia hauskoja aktiviteetteja, kuten ulkoilua, saunomista, raamistelua, laulamista, lautapelejä ja hartauksia. Leiri on siis oiva mahdollisuus tutustua uusiin ihmisiin. Sunnuntai aamuna Aalto papit tulevat vielä pitämään meille yhteiskristillisen messun. Tavoitteena olisi palata Otaniemeen sunnuntaina (1.11) klo 14-16 mennessä.

Hello!

Autumn has arrived, and with it comes the Guild of the Cross's traditional autumn camp! This year, the camp will be held at the Velskola Course Center from October 30th to November 1st. It is located in Northern Espoo in the Nuuksio area at Vääräjärventie 2. Carpools leave from Otaniemi on Friday (October 30) at 4:00 PM, but you can also arrive by your own means.
Participating in the camp costs around ~40€ (~20€ for guild freshmen), which includes accommodation and meals. The final price will be specified and paid after the camp (when we get the bill from the course center). The camp promises all kinds of fun activities, such as outdoor recreation, saunas, Bible study groups, singing, board games, and devotions. So, the camp is a great opportunity to get to know new people! On Sunday morning, the Aalto chaplains will also lead an ecumenical service for us. The goal is to return to Otaniemi on Sunday (November 1st) by 2:00-4:00 PM.

Small Group Evening: The Miracles of the Christian Life

Jesus calls us to a wonderful life filled with miracles. Jesus promises that whoever believes in Him will do works like His—and even greater ones (John 14:12).
What might that look like?
How does this promise become visible in my life?
And if it doesn’t, why not, and what could change?

We’ll split into small groups to study the Bible together and reflect on our lives in light of it. Finally, we’ll gather as a whole group to share what we discovered in our reading and what questions remain on our minds.

The evening will be held in the Ristin Kilta clubroom (Servin Maijan tie 8). Doors open no later than 6:15 p.m., and the main program begins at 6:30 p.m. A free evening snack will be served at the end of the evening.

On Thursday, October 8th, we are heading out for an outing in Uutela, Vuosaari together with OPKO! 🪵🍂

We will meet at *5:00 PM in front of Café Kampela* (Uutelantie 1) and head toward the campfire site together from there.

There will also be a shared departure from the Aalto metro platform at 4:03 PM (the metro leaves at that time, so please arrive a little beforehand).

During the evening, we’ll grill and have an evening snack, spend time together, and read the Bible. 🤗📖

We’ll provide sausages, bread, and drinks, but you’re also welcome to bring your own snacks or things to grill 🥪

Johtokunta kokousti 25.9. ja kokouksessa käsiteltiin mm. seuraavia asioita:

- Käytiin läpi vuosijuhlien järjestämiseen liittyviä asioita.
- Todettiin, että lapinmatkan järjestäjiä etsitään vielä.
- Päätettiin, että Ristin kilta voi rahoittaa Carry the Love 2027 -tapahtuman, mutta Aalto for Christ ja muut tahot hoitavat tapahtuman järjestämisen eikä kiltalaisia velvoiteta siihen.
- Ollaan tekemässä gigaraamattutilaus ja päätettiin hakea kappelirahastolta rahaa siihen.
- Pohdittiin vetokärryn ostamista roudaamisen helpottamiseksi.
