I will miss VI if it shuts down
we have been using Vi for generations now- and in my small family except for my mother, both my dad and me uses vi. Honestly it's a really sad news I saw today morning that vi can't continue its operation due to financial issues and legal struggles.
I love their new plans which gives free data from 12 am to 12 pm ( earlier it was 12 am to 6 am ) and honestly it's just enough to win over my heart.Since I have to a lot of work which uses up lot of data daily, I actually like the way vi gives free data along with its every plans tbh. Compared to jio whose plans are nearly overpriced with no such variety of plans ( not bashing anyone btw). And I would say that atleast for my area , the network speed is great ( around 2mb/s, which is max i can ask for I guess).
But seriously though I really don't want vi to shut down - atleast I don't want to switch over to jio and rant about network and tower issues which my friends do everyday ( including my mom as well).

Corruption level in Kolkata
Has it become increasingly difficult for the middle class to live in Kolkata these days ?
Are laws are only there for the super rich and politicians and the people with close contact to them ?
For everything simple tasks , there has to be a bribe involved or catching some one politically connected ?
Offcourse reaching out to law service is not always possible for the common man because of the cost and time constraints, as they are working people.
This post is for any suggestions for the members who can give useful insights and help the fellow victims.

Nice little crowdfunded project turning the lane outside Ray's house at Bishop Lefroy Road into a small permanent exhibit of his work as a tribute :) Looks better illuminated at night.

You may not believe this!
Felt like sharing this with you people.
I don’t know how many of you have heard of Hind Motor or been there because this is a horror incident me and one of my friends experienced back in 2017.
I have so many experiences but this is the scariest of them all.
You can call it a made-up story or laugh about it but till date whenever we think about it, it sends shivers down our spine.
Let me tell you what happened. In 2017, we used to offer wedding shoots as a side gig to earn some pocket money.
It was a side gig day, in the month of December. We went to a marriage hall in Konnagar.
My friend stays in Uttarpara and I stay near Airport.
I knew I’ll be late, so I have already told him that I’d stay the night at his place.
It was 1-1:30am and we were returning on a cycle. It was a foggy night. One could hardly see things clearly.
We entered Hind Motor complex, and were normally riding our bicycles towards Uttarpara.
There was this hospital inside Hind Motor complex. It got burned down due to an accident and alot of people died.
While we were riding, my friend was narrating the incident.
We reached at a point, where if you turn left, you will arrive at the hospital’s location after going for 1-1.5kms.
We stopped for a min to light our cigarettes. I swear, it was so freezing cold that night.
We saw someone walking towards us from the direction of the hospital. We ignored it, saying that someone might also be going back home. All of a sudden, we heard crows cawing and fly away and the matchbox fell from my hand. We lit our mobile’s torches to look for it. It was just the moonlight. Let me remind you, the man or whatever that was still far away, may be like 800m or 1km and he looked small.
We found the matchbox in like 4-5secs. And when we lifted our heads, we saw that man standing 50m away from us.
We panicked and started running in the opposite direction of my friend’s place. We saw the shadow chasing us like anything.
We ran for 3-4mins then again turned back to see if it was there, it wasn’t.
Afraid, we both turned back ran towards our cycle, took them and started riding as fast as possible.
Suddenly the shadow appeared in-front of us. It was 100-150m away. We were face to face with it. It started running towards us. We helplessly stood there, and gave up.
But when the distance was 20ms approximately. It vanished.
We took our cycles, rode as fast as possible and we never came from that route ever again.
I was getting goosebumps while writing this up.
