Rooftop restaurants banned in Kolkata

Kolkata Municipal Corporation has banned all rooftop restaurants across Kolkata following the fire incident at a hotel in Burrabazar, Kolkata. The incident took the lives of 14 people, with 13 others injured.

Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata, added: "The roof is a common place. It cannot be sold or occupied. All the rooftop restaurants operating in Kolkata should be closed immediately, and the infrastructure should be removed."
