Hey. We have had some reports of TPSL issues on RISEx. There are a few scenarios happening:

1 Limit order TPSL not filling
The default mode of TPSL on RISEx is by a limit order, and the default limit order price is the trigger price. However, this means that when the market is moving, a limit order placed at the trigger price often won't be filled. To gain confidence that it will be filled, users need to specify a more aggressive limit price.

We are going to make this easier by adding a 1bp price difference by default, with an option for users to increase the aggressiveness of the limit order in bps.

2 Market order TPSL partially filling
Our market order TPSL includes slippage protection; by default, it’s set to 0.3%, so anything up to that 0.3% is filled, the rest of the position remains. However, when the market is moving, the slippage setting may not be enough. We will be increasing this to 1% while also improving the book liquidity during volatility.

3 Adverse slippage during volatility
The Vault is the dominant market maker on the venue today. The vault has to balance capital protection with book uptime and depth. During volatility, the vault will shuffle it’s grid to track the price and maintain liquidity. In some circumstances, the vault has been removing orders from the book a little too aggressively, meaning there will be periods (measured in milliseconds) when the book is thin, which on a few occasions has led to the order not filling (slippage limit hit in #2) and not being replaced.

Quick product update!

TPSL Improvements
We have updated the TPSL UX to default to market orders, this is more intuitive for users.

However, to improve limit order TPSL UX, we’ve added a relative-bps dial for your limit order price, relative to the trigger price. Increasing this will raise the fill rate of limit-order TPSLs.

Additionally, there have been a few cases of TPSLs being partially filled - for this we’re working on a solution, which will likely be retries until the position completely closed.

Vault Upgrade
Earlier today we upgraded the vault market maker. Over the past week we’ve been playing cat-and-mouse with toxic flow (at the vaults expense), but I’m glad to share we shipped a pricing improvement to the vault and it looks to have eliminated that problem entirely (for now!).

This upgrade has some additional benefits:
- Book micro-uptime resolved, there’s no longer small (milliseconds) gaps when repositioning levels
- New pricing architecture supports more assets, so expect our first commodity and equity listings in the coming weeks!
