Silvio Berlusconi Names Only Person With Peaceful Solution To Ukraine Conflict

The world is paying "an unsustainable price" for the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Wednesday, calling for more effort to be made to find a way to end the hostilities.

Currently acting as the leader of the Forza Italia party, Berlusconi told the newspaper Corriere della Sera that although his country remains on the side of the West, of Europe, and NATO, he is nevertheless upset that "no one, except the Pope and the Holy See, has solutions leading to a peaceful resolution of the conflict."
He added that the fighting in Ukraine, which has entered its eleventh month, is costing "lives, suffering and economic damage" and adds a cost to the whole world.

The Vatican, where the pontiff's jurisdiction is known as the Holy See, ha...

Scholz Trampled On Key Post-WWII Principle โ€” MP

A member of parliament from the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has accused Chancellor Olaf Scholz of undermining one of the fundamental principles of Germanyโ€™s foreign policy since the end of World War II. Petr Bystronโ€™s criticism came in response to Scholzโ€™s decision to provide Ukraine with 14 Leopard tanks.

Addressing the chancellor in the German parliament on Wednesday, Bystron argued that Scholz would โ€œgo down in historyโ€ as a leader who had negated the โ€œnever againโ€ tenet long espoused by Berlin. According to the AfD lawmaker, this principle was taken to mean, among other things, abstention from weapons exports to conflict zones.

He went on to remind fellow MPs and the chancellor that Germany bears special responsibility for the victims of World War II, including those in the Soviet Union....

โ—๏ธโ€˜Kiev Works for West, Not Ukrainiansโ€™ โ€“ Exiled Opposition Leader to RT

Exiled leader of the banned opposition platform โ€œFor Lifeโ€ Viktor Medvedchuk still considers himself a Ukrainian citizen and lawmaker, and is building a team of like-minded people to represent the Ukraine he claims is suppressed by the current government in Kiev. President Vladimir Zelensky is a dictator sacrificing the country on behalf of Western powers, Medvedchuk told RT.

When Zelensky claims Ukraine is united, he leaves out that this unity was forced at gunpoint, Medvedchuk said. There are many people who disagree with the current government in Kiev, โ€œanother Ukraine, not that of [WWII Nazi collaborator Stepan] Bandera, one that has nothing to do with the statements and policies of neo-Nazism pursued by Zelensky,โ€ he added.

Todayโ€™s Ukraine violates every provision of its own constitution, Medvedchuk argued, and โ€œceased to be independent and sovereignโ€ after the February 2014 coup, when it โ€œpassed completely under external control of the West.โ€

Zelensky first placed Medvedchuk under house arrest, then sent him to a โ€œdungeonโ€ run by the Ukrainian SBU security service, where the opposition politician said he was exposed to โ€œconstant psychological pressure and humiliation.โ€ In September 2021, he was flown to Poland, and then to Tรผrkiye, where he was handed over to the Russians.

Contrary to popular misperception, he said, he was not traded for the leaders of the neo-Nazi โ€œAzovโ€ regiment who surrendered in Mariupol. Those were exchanged for captured Russian soldiers, Medvedchuk said, while he was traded for โ€œten foreign mercenaries who fought in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.โ€

First Interview Since War in Ukraine: "Zelensky is a PR man" - Viktor Medvedchuk's Story from Opposition Leader in Ukraine to POW Swap & Kiev's Anti-Russia Barbarism

The former pro-Russia opposition leader in Ukraine has sat down with RT to discuss events in the run up to his prisoner swap in September last year - in which Viktor Medvedchuk claims he was switched for foreign mercenaries.

He was charged with treason when Kiev clamped down on opposition parties - effectively banning all of them. Medvedchuk told RT his charges were fabricated, as he was used for his contacts in Russia to help secure cheap energy during a crisis dating back to 2014.

He says - as a professional lawyer - Ukraine as a state doesn't exist as a "sovereign, social democracy" but instead has been controlled by the West since 2014. Those who disagree must flee, or face neo-Nazi policies.
