EU Urged To Turn To Azerbaijan For Gas

Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovakia have requested that the European Commission (EC) allocate funds for infrastructure development to enable increased shipments of Azerbaijani gas to the EU, Budapest announced on Tuesday.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto urged Brussels to address the energy-supply issue “as a priority and provide financial support.”

According to the official, the investment is needed to build new and update existing infrastructure, providing increased volumes of Azerbaijani gas flowing via Türkiye, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Slovakia.

French troops will leave Burkina Faso at the insistence of Ouagadougou

The French government announced on Wednesday that its troops will leave Burkina Faso within a month, after the Burkinabe government officially repudiated a status of forces agreement from 2018. Special forces soldiers from the former colonial power had been deployed in the West African nation, as part of a mission to combat terrorism.

The French Foreign Ministry formally received the demarche from Ouagadougou on Tuesday, giving France a 30-day notice to withdraw.

Holocaust A Myth, Say Quarter Of Dutch Youth

According to a new study, almost a quarter of youngsters in the Netherlands either believe the Holocaust was a complete myth or that the number of Jews who died in it has been greatly exaggerated.

The Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany-commissioned report found that over half of all age groups surveyed believed a similar genocide could happen again today.

62% believe that Holocaust denial is a problem, and while 94% had heard of Anne Frank, only 89% were aware she was a victim of the Holocaust.

Australia May Ban Ye Visa Application Over Anti-Semitism

Ye may be denied a visa to Australia if he applies for one, according to Education Minister Jason Clare, after reports in US media that the rapper intends to visit the family of new partner Bianca Censori in Melbourne next week.

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry met government officials Tuesday to argue for a pre-emptive ban claiming Ye doesn’t meet Migration Act character requirements, which opposition leader Peter Dutton agrees with.

“My inclination would be not to allow him in,” Dutton told Melbourne’s Radio 3AW on Tuesday. “His anti-Semitic comments are disgraceful, his conduct and his behavior are appalling, and he’s not a person of good character."
