China Hits Back At US Over Treasury Secretary Africa Remarks

The Chinese Embassy in Zambia suggested Tuesday that the US first sort out its debt problems after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Beijing was a โ€œbarrierโ€ to debt reform in Africa.

The missionโ€™s statement urged Washington to โ€œstop sabotaging other sovereign countriesโ€™ active efforts to solve their issuesโ€ and focus on addressing its $31 trillion national debt.

Zambia defaulted on its debt in 2020 and has struggled to restructure repayments. The World Bank, meanwhile, estimates the worldโ€™s poorest countries faced $35 billion in debt-service payments in 2022, over 40% of which is due to China.

Fyodor Lukyanov: NATO has already destabilized Europe, is it about to deliver the same medicine to Asia?

The US-led bloc appears to be using Japan as a Trojan horse to gain a foothold in the region and maintain its relevance

Currently, the world's attention is focused on the European theater of war, but some very interesting events are also unfolding in Asia.

Japan is the most illustrative. Until recently, the country was reluctant to peddle a militant attitude either in terms of weaponry or even in using economic pressure. Things are changing, and this is a strong indicator of the transformation of the international arena.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has just completed a tour of...

Juniper Oak: US And Israel To Hold Massive Military Drills

The US military and the IDF are set to hold large-scale combat drills dubbed โ€œJuniper Oak.โ€

Beginning this week, the exercises will involve thousands of forces, a dozen ships, significant numbers of attack and intelligence collection drones, and 142 aircraft, including nuclear-capable bombers.

โ€œI think that this scale of the exercise is relevant to a whole range of scenarios, and Iran may draw certain inferences from that,โ€ a senior US defense official told reporters. โ€œIt would not surprise me if Iran, you know, sees the scale and the nature of these activities and understands what the two of us are capable of doing.โ€

Yoshiro Mori lamented Tokyo siding with Kiev at the cost of its relationship with Moscow

It is โ€œalmost unthinkableโ€ that Russia would lose in the Ukraine conflict, former Japanese prime minister Yoshiro Mori has said, questioning the US-led drive to support Kiev, which Tokyo has joined.

โ€œIs it fine to put so much effort into Ukraine?โ€ the former official asked, as quoted by Japanese media. โ€œItโ€™s almost unthinkable that Russia will lose,โ€ he said on Wednesday during a meeting in Tokyo of the Japan-India Association, which he used to chair.
