Russiaโs Chief Of General Staff Details Security Threats
General Valery Gerasimov has said that Moscow intends to set up new military districts and put together fresh units to counter the most pressing security threats it faces, including hybrid war in Ukraine, as well as Finland and Sweden potentially joining NATO.
According to Gerasimov, the Russian militaryโs response to those challenges will, among other things, include the creation of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts and the formation of three motorized rifle divisions in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Gerasimov also pointed out that the Russian military hasnโt seen hostilities of such scale and intensity in the countryโs modern history and that Moscow is โopposed by almost the entire collective West.โ

He added that if the US did supply these weapons to Kiev it would be a blatant provocation against Moscow.
โNo one should have any illusions who is the real aggressor in the current conflict,โ Antonov said in a statement released by the Russian Embassy in Washingtonโs press service.
