No surprise.

Harry Styles has warned his fans that they need to be double vaccinated against Covid in order to attend his shows on his new tour.

The former One Direction star has had to postpone his shows several times due to the pandemic.

And he has now said proof of two jabs will be needed to see him on Love On Tour in the US which kicks off on September 4th - "for the health and safety of everyone attending".

And he said those who have not received a vaccine will have to provide proof of a negative test so they can be admitted into the shows.

The National Public Health Emergency Team (Nphet) will be shut down from the middle of October as the Government aims to call an end to the Covid-19 emergency.

Meanwhile, employees are set to return to the office in phases from September 13.

Ministers yesterday discussed closing down a number of emergency groups set up during the crisis.

Nphet will be disbanded, the Irish Independent understands. The experts will still be on hand to advise the Government but not in the current form.

Japan has suspended the use of about 1.63 million doses of the Moderna vaccine due to contamination.

The health ministry said "foreign materials" were found in some doses of a batch of roughly 560,000 vials.

Takeda Pharmaceutical, which sells and distributes the vaccine in Japan, said Moderna had put three batches on hold "out of an abundance of caution".

It said an issue at a manufacturing contract site in Spain was the likely cause, but did not elaborate.
