Israel is holding a parliamentary election on Tuesday, its fifth in less than four years, as parties hope to finally break government gridlock and end a prolonged political crisis.

According to final polls, released four days before the vote, the bloc of opposition parties led by former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to win 60 seats in the Knesset, the countryโ€™s parliament, one short of a majority. His main rival, Prime Minister Yair Lapid, and the coalition he leads, is projected to win 56 seats.

Turnout hit 15.9% by 10am local time, Central Ele... ...

The veteran leftist is back in power after a narrow win, but his power to bring change is very limited

The results are in for Brazilโ€™s presidential election, which has drawn serious international attention. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known mononymously as Lula, won the contest with 50.9% of the vote, to incumbent President Jair Bolsonaroโ€™s 49.1%, which is in line with what polls suggested would happen. My best friend, who I mentioned in my last column on this topic for RT, thankfully was no... ...

The oil and gas minister says New Delhiโ€™s top priority is its own people

India sees no โ€œmoral conflictโ€ in importing Russian oil despite the Westโ€™s attempts to curb Moscowโ€™s revenues, Indian oil and gas minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, has said. The US and EU have tried to restrict Russian oil and gas trade as part of sanctions that were imposed on Moscow in the wake of its military operation in Ukraine, which was launched in February.

During an interview on CNN on Monday, anchor Becky Anderson asked Puri whether India has โ€œany qualms about continuing to buy so muchโ€ Russian oil.

The minister corrected Anderson by saying that oil from Russia made... ...

According to the renowned economist, โ€œeverything will split in twoโ€

A new world war is practically underway, โ€œcertainly in Ukraine and cyberspace,โ€ economist Nouriel Roubini explained.

Last week, the New York University professor was interviewed by Der Spiegel and listed some of the worldโ€™s most acute problems.

Recalling a recent event hosted by the International Monetary Fund, he referred to historian Niall Ferguson who โ€œsaid in a speech there that we would be lucky if we got an economic crisis like in the 1970s โ€” and not a war like in the 1940s.โ€

When speaking about major global threats, Roubini mentioned the ongoing conflict between Russia... ...

The Serbian military now has orders to immediately destroy any hostile drone in the countryโ€™s airspace, President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Tuesday.
