Macau Mass-Testing After Spike In Covid Cases

Every one of Macau’s 700,000 residents has been instructed to take a PCR test Tuesday and then daily rapid antigen tests following the emergence of 11 cases in recent days.

The MGM China Cotai Casino went into a three-day lockdown on Sunday with 1,500 staff and guests inside, just as mainland residents were permitted to apply for Macau visas online - a move the gambling industry had hoped would further boost tourism.

As a Chinese special administrative region, Macau has also adopted the zero-Covid policy.

87,000 Russian Soldiers Join Special Operation — Defense Ministry

New troops called up as part of Russia’s partial mobilization are headed to the special operation zone, Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said Tuesday.

During a phone call between Presidents Macron and Zelensky, the French leader said his country will help Ukraine get through the winter.

He also said France will help repair water and energy infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes.

Macron also vowed to boost Ukraine's anti-air defenses and agreed to hold an international conference to support Ukrainian civilians in winter.

Tesla Ships In Chinese Workers To Boost California Plant Expansion

Around 200 engineers and production staff are to be sent from Tesla’s recently upgraded Shanghai factory to help expand the Fremont, California plant on three-month assignments, according to anonymous sources.

The electric carmaker delivered a record 83,135 cars in September at the Shanghai plant, which doubled its annual production capacity to 1 million vehicles after a 5-week upgrade, and cut waiting times to 1-4 weeks. Some US customers have to wait till April 2023 for Model Y models.
