The Pentagon wants a new hub for B-52 bombers amid tensions with China

The US military has devised a plan which would see nuclear-capable B-52 strategic bombers deployed in Australia on long-term rotational missions, and turn the countryโ€™s Northern Territory into a crucial military hub in Washingtonโ€™s standoff with Beijing, the national broadcaster reported on Monday.

The Pentagon reportedly seeks to build a โ€œsquadron operations facility,โ€ which would include a maintenance center and enough parking area for six B-52s at the Royal Australian Air Force military air base Tindal,...

German Official Offers Controversial Solution To Gas Crisis โ€” Media

Germany should study the issue of producing domestic shale gas using fracking, which is currently prohibited in the country, Finance Minister Christian Lindner told Funke media group.

The technology allows oil and gas to be extracted from shale rock by breaking it up with pressurized liquid, including water and chemicals.

The technique has been used in Germany since the 1960s to extract natural gas from conventional reserves, including sandstone and carbonate stones. About one third of the natural gas produced in the country comes from reserves tapped by fracking. However, โ€œunconventional frackingโ€ in shale and coal seams, which uses horizontal drilling techniques, was placed under moratorium in 2011, and then largely banned in Germany due to environmental risks such as water pollution, or even earthquakes.

Robotic Exoskeleton Helps Kids With Disabilities Take First Steps

The Association for People with Cerebral Palsy (APAC) in Mexico City has developed a ground-breaking robotic exoskeleton to assist young patients in taking their first steps.

The Atlas 2030 device, the first of its type in Mexico, offers one-hour therapeutic sessions. The mechanical, motorized suit adjusts to the action of individual children, which helps to build muscles, as well as enhance digestion and respiration.

David, who is eight years old, is one of the first users, and even at this early stage, the difference is noticeable. โ€˜I see improvement โ€ฆ I see his feet as if they give him more encouragement to walk and he pushes himself to take his own steps,โ€™ said his mother, Guadalupe Cardoso Ruiz.

Ukraine Wants United States To Pressure Israel

The United States should persuade Israel to provide military assistance to Kiev, Ukrainian Ambassador to Tel Aviv Evgeny Korniychuk has said.

In an interview with The Hill newspaper, published on Sunday, Korniychuk claimed that, as the US is โ€œthe only country that Israel is listening to,โ€ Washington should also ensure that its close ally abides by Western sanctions on Russia.

Revealing that he meets with the US ambassador to Israel on a weekly basis, Korniychuk jokingly referred to Tom Nides as a โ€œsecret weaponโ€ in his campaign to push Israel out of its neutral status.
