Russia & China Could Shatter Dollar Dominance — Diplomat

The transition to trade in national currencies between Russia and China will contribute to a global de-dollarization process, China's Charge d'Affaires in Russia said this week at a conference on the matter.

“The existing economic partnership between China and Russia and the long-term accumulated level of trade have laid a solid foundation for further deepening cooperation between our countries,” Sun Weidong said, noting that bilateral trade has risen dramatically, mostly on energy and agriculture supplies.

“Energy cooperation continues to play an important role in relations between the two countries, in addition, agricultural products and seafood from Russia are increasingly entering the Chinese market,” the diplomat said.

Moscow Responds To Criticism Over Grain Deal Suspension

Russia’s decision to suspend the grain deal with Ukraine was prompted by Kiev’s reckless actions, Moscow’s ambassador to Washington said on Sunday, while describing Western condemnation of the move as unwarranted.

Russia halted its compliance with the agreement, brokered by the UN and Türkiye, after Kiev conducted a major drone attack on ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet involved in securing safe passage for agricultural cargo.

Speaking to reporters, Anatoly Antonov said: "Washington's reaction to the terrorist attack on the port of Sevastopol is truly outrageous,” adding that the US refrained from condemning “the reckless actions of the Kiev regime.”

Bridge collapse in India kills dozens – officials

At least 35 people have been killed in the collapse of a newly renovated bridge in the Indian state of Gujarat, a state government minister has said.

“The deceased figure has been 35 till now,” Brijesh Merja, who is now at the scene of the tragedy, was quoted as saying by local media.

He also revealed that some people died after being rescued.

The Home Minister of Gujarat, Harsh Sanghavi, said the tragedy occurred at around 6:30pm local time on Sunday, when 150 people were on the bridge.
