Everyday items like beauty products, soap and toilet paper will no longer be imported from Moscow, based on details released by the European Commission on a proposed eighth package of sanctions against Russia. (Politico)
The ๐ช๐บ plans to bar โcertain elements used in the jewellery industryโ and impose sanctions on ๐ท๐บโs largest diamond mining firm, although it will not ban Russian diamonds.
The draft text, which includes a curb on the export of tech components that power Russiaโs military, will be presented to the 27 member countries next week, it will require unanimous approval to be signed off.
Hungary's presidential office has already said it plans to reject it.

A nationwide strike called by local trade unions hit Franceโs energy sector on Thursday, as industry workers, including from the electricity and nuclear sectors, demanded higher pay, a 32-hour working week and a lower retirement age of 60.
The 24-hour action noticeably lowered the countrywide energy output all across the board with nuclear power generation cut by 3.3 gigawatts, while also affecting the work of TotalEnergies refineries.
