China reacts to Ukraine-Taiwan comparison
RT World News (RSS)

These are completely different issues, Beijing says

Taiwan is an internal Chinese matter and attempting to link it to events in Ukraine is inappropriate, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Friday. He also criticized US Vice President Kamala Harris for her comments about Washington wanting to further develop its ties with the island.

โ€œAnyone who seeks to insinuate [the] relevance of the Ukraine issue to the Taiwan question is invariably driven by political calculations,โ€ Wang said at a regular...

โ€œWhereโ€™s Jackie?โ€ the US president asked at a White House event, looking for the late Representative Walorski

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday called out for a congresswoman who had died in a car crash in early August โ€“ apparently forgetting his own statement of condolence to her family, or the tribute video that reportedly aired before the event.

โ€œJackie, are you here? Where's Jackie,โ€ he said, looking at the people attending the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. โ€œShe was going to be here,โ€ he added, according to...

โ€˜Industrial Terrorismโ€™: Tucker Carlson Slams Alleged Nord Stream Sabotage

Tucker Carlson claimed President Putin would have to be โ€œsuicidalโ€ to destroy his โ€œmain source of power, leverage and wealthโ€ by blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines, but suggested Joe Biden might be capable of delivering on his promise delivered just before the military operation in Ukraine began.

โ€œThere will be no more Nord Stream 2, we will bring an end to it,โ€ Biden said in early February. โ€œI promise you weโ€™ll be able to do it.โ€ Earlier on Tuesday, German magazine Spiegel reported that the CIA had tipped Berlin off weeks ago about a possible attack on the pipelines.

The Fox News host then picked apart the logic of Canadaโ€™s UN ambassador Bob Rae who claimed โ€œRussians are using pollution as a weapon of war,โ€ citing โ€œour famously dim Secretary of Stateโ€ Anthony Blinkenโ€™s insistence that sabotaging Nord Stream was โ€œclearly in nobodyโ€™s interests.โ€

Cuba Knocked Completely Offline by Hurricane Ian Devastation

The entire decades-old electrical grid collapsed throughout Cuba on Tuesday in the wake of Hurricane Ianโ€™s powerful 120mph (195kmph) maximum winds.

Authorities had already cut power to Pinar del Rio provinceโ€™s 850,000 citizens as a precaution before Ian made landfall early Tuesday and evacuated 40,000 people from danger, but two people were still killed by the category 3 storm.

Ian is now expected to intensify as it bears down on Floridaโ€™s Tampa area Wednesday and Thursday with 130mph (209kmph) maximum gusts and up to 60cm of rain.
