A TD refused to wear a mask when walking through Leinster House and sparked complaints from a staff member forced to share a toilet on the same floor with him.

Other politicians and staff became “defiant (or) abusive” when asked to stick to public health guidelines at Dublin’s Convention Centre and around the Dail or Seanad.

Staff members also reported being on the receiving end of “abuse and hostility” when requesting people to comply with restrictions, according to a log of complaints and Covid-19 breaches made to Oireachtas authorities.

In emails, one staff member reported how they had taken to using an alternate route to their office so they would not have to pass the room of a male TD, who never wore a mask.

TO GAIN ALLIES IN THE POLICE AND THE MILITARY FORCES.

To get police and military on our side they need to feel that the momentum is on our side and the days of the politicians are numbered. Only then they will switch sides. That is where street protests help. To change the perception of the balance of power for those who are not yet with us, but who we really need to overturn the current political class, and to replace them with a real democracy which first of all respects the human rights our parents and grandparents fought hard to give us.

That is why violence against police forces is counterproductive.
