So this evening at 6.50 pm the 79a Dublin Bus arrived on Kylemore Road and me and my 5-year-old daughter processed to get on as we did the driver asked weres your mask, I then replied that I was medically exempt he said nothing and allowed me to pay the fare for our journey as the money went in he told me to get the fuck off the bus because we had no masks, I then asked him are you refusing me and my child from the bus which he replied get fucking off as onlookers looked in disgust and my daughter witnessing this behaviour, her face mirroring through the reflection in the glass all I could see was her little sad face, I felt belittled, judged and angry that we were treated in this manner because I can't wear a mask due to medical reasons. Our society has become a world where you're made feel ashamed for this and a child has to walk 10k because she's not allowed on a bus with her mother.

It comes as the country continues to pursue a 'Zero Covid' strategy with aims to eliminate the virus despite mounting evidence it may be impossible - with cases continuing to rise and only 21 per cent of adults double vaccinated.
