Nepal offers to trade in national currencies with Russia

Moscow and Kathmandu could create a mechanism for mutual settlements in the national currencies, Nepalโ€™s ambassador to Russia, Milan Raj Tuladhar, has told RIA Novosti.

โ€œIt would be a barter trade based on our own currencies, without involving others. It should be a banking cooperation between the central banks of Nepal and Russia,โ€ Tuladhar said.

He believes it is possible to create a mechanism similar to the one between Moscow and New Delhi that uses the rupee and ruble in trade.

Ronaldo left bloodied by nasty goalkeeper collision

Cristiano Ronaldo had an evening to forget in Prague on Saturday after he was left bloodied and bruised by a collision and failed to get on the scoresheet in Portugalโ€™s 4-0 UEFA Nations League win over the Czech Republic.

Around a quarter of an hour into the proceedings, things took a turn for the worse when he challenged the hostsโ€™ goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik for a high ball.

Vaclik attempted to punch it out of danger away from the penalty area, but he accidentally caught Ronaldo with his elbow and laid the five-time Ballon dโ€™Or winner out on the turf of the Sinobo Stadium.

Pink Floyd co-founder calls out โ€˜censorshipโ€™ over Ukraine

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters has denied media reports that he had canceled two concerts in Krakow, Poland. He accused the local authorities of censoring him over his criticism of Western involvement in the Ukraine conflict.

โ€œYour papers are wrong in their assertions that either, I or my management, has cancelled my forthcoming shows in Krakow, we havenโ€™t,โ€ he said.

He went on to confirm, however, that a councilor in the city of Krakow, Lukasz Wantuch, put forward a motion to declare Waters persona non grata. According to the musician, this is โ€œbecause of my public efforts to encourage all involved in the disastrous war in Ukraineโ€ฆ to work towards a negotiated peace.โ€
