Sweden Mulls Producing Weapons for Ukraine

Sweden could start producing weapons for Ukraine to help counter Russiaโ€™s military offensive, but no final decision on the matter has been made, Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist has revealed.

Speaking to Swedish broadcaster SVT, Hultqvist said Western nations are bracing for a long-term conflict in Ukraine and are ready to help the country with military training, mine clearance, and weapons production.

However, on the issue of producing weapons for Ukraine, the minister said: โ€œThis isnโ€™t something that I would rule out, but itโ€™s too early to say. We are positive about all three directions, but eventually we will see how it all comes together.โ€

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has a 22-point lead over former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak in the race to become the next British prime minister, according to a survey by polling firm Opinium Research published on Saturday.
