Josep Borrel has admitted that double standards permeate international relations, after being asked why Brussels was far more willing to support the people of Ukraine than the people of Gaza.

The Middle East conflict is not in the EU’s hands, he said, pointing the finger at the US.

“International politics is to a large degree about applying double standards. We do not use the same criteria for all problems,” he told El Pais newspaper.

Telegram CEO Lashes Out at Apple and Google

Russian-born software entrepreneur Pavel Durov, who runs the company behind the popular messaging app Telegram, has slammed US tech giants for abusing their dominant market position.

“Our upcoming update – which is about to revolutionize how people express themselves in messaging – has been stuck in Apple’s ‘review’ for two weeks, without explanation or any feedback provided by Apple,” he complained on Telegram.

“This harm goes on top of the 30% tax Apple and Google take from app developers – which, according to them, is supposed to pay for the resources needed to review apps,” the businessman added. “The regulators in the EU and elsewhere are slowly starting to look into these abusive practices.”
