ISIS-Executioner ‘Beatle’ Seized at London Airport - media

The British national was detained on terrorism charges after spending 7 years behind bars in Turkey for the alleged beheading and torture of Western captives with distressing videos of the incidents posted online. (The Times)

Aine Davis is reportedly part of the group dubbed ‘The Beatles’ - called so because of their British accents - of the now-defunct terrorist cell. He vehemently denies being part of the group and claims photo evidence of him posing with armed militants are ‘just silly photos’.

However, his legal situation may complicate his conviction. Under UK law, individuals may not be prosecuted for one crime multiple times - often called ‘double jeopardy’ - even if the sentence occurred abroad.
