Moscow accused Kiev of shelling Europeโ€™s largest nuclear power plant on Friday

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has voiced concerns over a potential nuclear disaster at Europe's largest nuclear power station, after Moscow accused Ukrainian forces of shelling the nuclear plant in the countryโ€™s southern Zaporozhye Region on Friday, while Kiev claims that Russia is using the facility as a โ€œshieldโ€ for its soldiers.

Pets at risk as broke Brits cut costs โ€“ RSPCA

Rising costs in the UK could have โ€œa worrying impactโ€ on the welfare of peopleโ€™s pets, one of the biggest animal charities in the country warned on Saturday.

Speaking to Sky News, a spokesperson for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) explained that as the โ€œrising cost of living puts a strain on peopleโ€™s finances,โ€ there is concern that more pets will be abandoned. The charity is also worried that it could see a rise in the number of pets โ€œbeing treated with home remedies to cut costs instead of being taken to the vet.โ€

โ€œThis could all have a worrying impact on animal welfare,โ€ the spokesman said, while urging pet owners struggling with care for their animals to โ€œseek help from friends and family,โ€ or reputable charities.
