Oslo’s ambassador Rune Resaland was summoned in connection with the foul-mouthed behavior of Norwegian Consul General Elisabeth Ellingsen in a Murmansk hotel on July 6, for which Norway’s Foreign Ministry apologized.

The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Ellingsen’s stay was impossible after the incident in Murmansk, in which she ranted about her hatred for Russians in an "outrageous act of hatred, nationalism and xenophobia".

Griner Drugs Trial: Closing Arguments Due

American basketball star Brittney Griner will hear closing arguments in her drugs trial Thursday, after which she could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Premier League to Limit BLM Knee Gesture

English Premier League captains have decided to largely get rid of the BLM gesture of players taking a knee before matches this season after agreeing it had lost its impact through overuse.

Chairman of English football’s anti-racism watchdog Kick It Out Sanjay Bhandari said: “we should be spending more time on why players take a knee rather than whether they take a knee or not.”

Premier League chairman Richard Masters suggested it was "up to the players to decide themselves", such as Crystal Palace’s black forward Wilfried Zaha who stopped taking a knee in February claiming it did nothing to stop the abuse he faced from fans anyway.
