Czech Star Reveals Threats after Playing In Russia

Czech hockey star Lukas Klok has said he received threats in his homeland after playing for a Russian team, but has defended his former employers by saying he was โ€œtreated perfectly normallyโ€ during his time in Russia.

Klok told Czech outlet Sport.cz that he was firmly opposed to Moscowโ€™s military action, but added he would โ€œnot condemn the Russians [and say] that the whole nation is bad. They treated me perfectly normally.โ€

Klok, 27, played last season at KHL team Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, based in Tatarstan, but terminated his contract following the outbreak of the conflict with Ukraine.
