Stoltenberg: Russia โ€œDirect Threatโ€ to NATO Security (AFP video)

Prior to Wednesdayโ€™s NATO leaders meeting in Madrid, the alliance chief Jens Stoltenberg branded Russia a โ€œdirect threatโ€ to NATO defense amidst โ€œthe worst security crisis we have faced since the Second World Warโ€.

He insisted, however, that although China was not an enemy, NATO needed to โ€œtake into account the consequences of our securityโ€ in the face of Beijingโ€™s modern military power.

The alliance is also set to massively boost its presence on its eastern front.

All defensive moves, of course.

Trump โ€œLungedโ€ for Steering Wheel & Demanded to Join Riots, Aide says - Secret Service Ready to DENY Claims

In explosive surprise testimony, former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadowsโ€™ aide Cassidy Hutchison claimed Trump demanded Secret Service take him to the Capitol riots on Jan 6 and even lunged at the steering wheel in anger.

โ€œIโ€™m the effing President, take me there now,โ€ Cassidy testified via senior Secret Service official Tony Ornato.

NY Times and NBC cite sources claiming the head of Trumpโ€™s security detail, Robert Engel, is prepared to go on oath denying he then lunged for the steering wheel.

Hutchison also alleged that Trump had wanted security to stop screening his supporters with metal detectors to allow crowds to appear larger.

Zelensky Demands $Billions Per Month from NATO in Summit Address

Here are the main points made by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to the alliance in a video address:

โ–ช๏ธ We need security guarantees, and you need to find a place for Ukraine in the common security space. Is your contribution to the security of Europe enough?

โ–ช๏ธ For the sake of peace, it is necessary to reconsider the understanding of the eastern flank of NATO. We need more weapons, and $5bn per month

โ–ช๏ธ "The situation next year may be even worse when Russia will shell not only Ukraine, but also other neighboring countries. Russia's goals are clear to usโ€ฆ They see us as a republic of the USSR that needs to be returned.โ€
