China mocks G7

Amid high-profile meetings of the G7 and NATO leaders, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian posted an image on Tuesday pointing out that despite being referred to as โ€œinternational society,โ€ the G7 countries actually account for a small percentage of the worldโ€™s population.

Depicting the leaders of the G7 countries alongside the leaders of the BRICS nations, the image noted that the population of the former amounts to 777 million, while the BRICS countries are home to 3.2 billion people....

Sex - We Have Put the Cart Before the Horse
henrymakow.com (RSS)

(Horse = love. Cart = sex.)

Traditional sexual assumptions turned out to be right. In the 1950-60s, a young woman would only have sex in the context of love and marriage.  "Making love" (sex) was literally an expression of a spiritual union i.e. love. In this state, your partner becomes part of you.

Today we have put the carriage before the horse. People seek sexual titillation rather than to express spiritual union (which is what they really seek.)  Sex is the expression of a spiritual bond. It creates and strengthens this bond. Typically Satanism negates everything.

Despite what some โ€œdefense analystsโ€ may be telling Western media, the longer the war continues, the more Ukrainians will die and the weaker NATO will become.

By Scott RITTER

For a moment in time, it looked as if reality had managed to finally carve its way through the dense fog of propaganda-driven misinformation that had dominated Western media coverage of Russiaโ€™s โ€œSpecial Military Operationโ€ in Ukraine.

In a stunning admission, Oleksandr Danylyuk, a former senior adviser to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and Intelligence Services, noted that the optimism that existed in Ukraine following Russiaโ€™s decision to terminate โ€œPhase Oneโ€ of the SMO (a major military feint toward Kiev), and begin โ€œPhase Twoโ€ (the liberation of the Donbass), was no longer warranted. โ€œThe strategies and tactics of the Russians are completely different right now,โ€ Danylyuk noted. โ€œThey are being much more successful. They have more resources than us and they are not in a rush.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s much less space for optimism right now,โ€ Danylyuk concluded.

In short, Russia was winning.

Danylyukโ€™s conclusions were not derived from some esoteric analysis drawn from Sun Tzu or Clausewitz, but rather basic military math. In a war that had become increasingly dominated by the role of artillery, Russia simply was able to bring to bear on the battlefield more firepower than Ukraine.

Ukraine started the current conflict with an artillery inventory that included 540 122mm self-propelled artillery guns, 200 towed 122mm howitzers, 200 122mm multiple-rocket launch systems, 53 152mm self-propelled guns, 310 towed 152mm howitzers, and 96 203mm self-propelled guns, for approximately 1,200 artillery and 200 MLRS systems.

For the past 100-plus days, Russia has been relentlessly targeting both Ukraineโ€™s artillery pieces and their associated ammunition storage facilities. By June 14, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that it had destroyed โ€œ521 installation of multiple launch rocket systemsโ€ and โ€œ1947 field artillery guns and mortars.โ€

Even if the Russian numbers are inflated (as is usually the case when it comes to wartime battle damage assessments), the bottom line is that Ukraine has suffered significant losses among the very weapons systems โ€” artillery โ€” which are needed most in countering the Russian invasion.

But even if Ukraineโ€™s arsenal of Soviet-era 122mm and 152mm artillery pieces were still combat-worthy, the reality is that, according to Danylyuk, Ukraine has almost completely run out of ammunition for these systems and the stocks of ammunition sourced from the former Soviet-bloc Eastern European countries that used the same family of weapons have been depleted.

Ukraine is left doling out what is left of its former Soviet ammunition while trying to absorb modern Western 155mm artillery systems, such as the Caesar self-propelled gun from France and the U.S.-made M777 howitzer.

But the reduced capability means that Ukraine is only able to fire some 4,000-to-5,000 artillery rounds per day, while Russia responds with more than 50,000. This 10-fold disparity in firepower has proven to be one of the most decisive factors when it comes to the war in Ukraine, enabling Russia to destroy Ukrainian defensive positions with minimal risk to its own ground forces.

Casualties

This has led to a second level of military math imbalances, that being casualties.

Mykhaylo Podolyak, a senior aid to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,...

War Makes for Clarity
Strategic Culture Foundation (RSS)

In America โ€“ as in Europe โ€“ there is fear and anger at system disintegration, Alastair Crooke writes.

The train wreck has been expected for so long that we have become comfortable living under its shadow. Life went on; markets were sanguine that the market lifestyle subsidy provided by the Central Banks would continue unabated. And not without good reason either: Any trader disappointment at Central Bank action, any dip in markets, brought forth a collective market hissy fit that usually strong-armed the Central Banks into immediate appeasement. We were hard pressed to imagine differently.

Now, however, weโ€™re in a new era, in many ways. The West has entered upon a war with Russia and China. The West, however, did not do its homework first, and now is finding that the โ€˜warโ€™ is cruelly revealing the structural rigidities and flaws integral to its own economic system, rather than mining the weaknesses of its rivals.

Why is this new era so grave? Firstly, because of what lies โ€˜beneath the stonesโ€™. These structural contradictions have been accumulating over decades, lurking in the dark damp underside to the stones. Kept hidden from sight by the serendipitous (for the U.S.) economic outcome to WW2, and the equally serendipitous combination of factors that kept inflation low (so low that western economists believed they had found the โ€˜holy grailโ€™ of monetary โ€˜easingโ€™ โ€“ they had banished recessions for ever). So simple, really, just turn on the money-printer!

Hubris prevailed. It was magic: a โ€˜new economicsโ€™. And then inadvertently, Team Biden kicked over the stones in their eagerness to cut Russia down to size (instigating sanctions and stealing Russiaโ€™s foreign reserves). And Inflation was the serpent under the rock. Long latent, unseen, yet always present. And no longer one serpent, but now many.

And then they found they are fighting the wrong war: Ukraine was conceived as the urban war American and NATO trainers had absorbed from the jihadists fighting President Assad in Syria. But Russia knew this type of war well โ€“ they did not bite; instead, they fought a classic artillery war (in which Russia traditionally has excelled).

So, the serpents of inflation โ€“ at a time of structural economic checkmate โ€“ are loosened, as they always are in war. And as pressures mount, โ€˜thingsโ€™ and people get thrown under a bus. โ€˜Warโ€™ makes for clarity: It becomes starkly clear what baggage must go overboard to save the vessel.

Saving the vessel, of course, is imperative. Thus, America has decided to look after โ€˜its ownโ€™. The Davos-Brussels plan to eventually to roll-up the over-indebted European commercial banks into a single, Brussels-controlled digital currency suddenly is seen โ€“ as if scales had fallen from the eyes โ€“ as potentially threatening to hole the hull below the waterline.

What this reveals is that the โ€˜strong dollarโ€“weak dollar playโ€™ โ€“ in tandem with Treasury sanctions โ€“ has been โ€˜not so badโ€™ for the NY Big Banks! Why let the Europeans scoop up all those distressed assets that pop-up in times of crisis? Why allow the U.S. big banking sphere to dissolve into a world of fin-tech Apps? Why deprive the former of their historic raiding rights? Why stop now because the Europeans want โ€˜Davosโ€™.

So, the U.S. Big Banks are thinking, let the ECB โ€“ and by extension the Euro Zone โ€“ โ€˜fall under the busโ€™. Co-ordinating policy with the ECB anyway has tied the hands of the Fed to manage affairs to its own advantage.

With โ€˜warโ€™, the serpents crawl out. Again, a stark clarity emerges: What worked when inflation was less than 2% doesnโ€™t โ€˜cut itโ€™ at double digit inflation. The low inflation era was dominated by monetarist dogma. And so, it also bred structural contradictions. Even moderate interest rate incre...
