A German court has sentenced Josef S. to five years in prison for complying to murder 3,500 prisoners 

A 101-year-old man, whom the German authorities believe to have been a guard at the Sachsenhausen Nazi concentration camp, will spend the next five years behind bars, a court in the town of Brandenburg an der Havel ruled on Tuesday. 

Josef S. was found guilty of aiding and abetting the murder of over 3,500 prisoners as well as attempted murder. In meting out the sentence, the judges accommodated the public prosecutorโ€™s request.

46 DEAD Migrants Found in Texas Trailer

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of people smuggling after San Antonio cops discovered 46 corpses in a trailer Monday - believed to be migrants attempting to enter the US illegally.

Sixteen people - including 4 children - were rescued and treated for heatstroke and exhaustion after the trailer was found to have no air conditioning unit.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott was in no doubt who to blame, tweeting: โ€œThese deaths are on Bidenโ€ฆ They show the deadly consequences of his refusal to enforce the law.โ€

Customs and Border patrol agents made 239,416 arrests along the Mexican border last month and are on course to exceed 2mn arrests in the 2022 fiscal year through September.

Remarkable footage has spread on social media of four men attempting to steal jewelry from a major art fair in the Netherlandsโ€™ Maastricht using a sledgehammer in full view of visitors.

The men appear to simply smash the glass display case with bystanders - one of whom attempts to threaten them with a large flower vase - just meters away.

Police have arrested two of four suspects after the incident at The European Fine Arts Fair.

Credit Suisse GUILTY of Laundering Drug Cartel Money (report)

Switzerlandโ€™s second largest bank, Credit Suisse, was found guilty and fined for failing to detect a money-laundering scheme involving a drug cartel. (Reuters)

A former employee of the bank was found to have accepted 146 million Swiss francs ($152 million) in bank deposits from a Bulgarian cocaine smuggling ring, while concealing the criminal origins of the funds.

Credit Suisse now faces a fine of two million Swiss francs ($2.1 million), while the former employee was also fined and given a suspended 20-month prison sentence.

Credit Suisse said it would appeal against the conviction.
