Enough Russia Sanctions; Negotiations, Ceasefire, Diplomacy Better - Hungary
A top aide to Hungarian president Viktor Orban told Reuters on the sidelines of the EU summit on Thursday that the EU’s sanctions policy against Russia simply isn’t working, and that the focus should be on negotiations instead.
Balasz Orban - no relation to the PM - said: “Europe will be on the losing side of this war because of the economic problems. The more sanctions we accept, the worse shape we are in. And the Russians? Yes, it hurts them as well, but they survive”.
“If it continues like this… it will end up in a bad way for Europe. Negotiations, ceasefire, peace. Diplomacy. That's our solution," he added.
Europe’s walked the walk to the brink of recession - time to talk the talk perhaps.

Many EU countries are in ‘direct war’ with Russia – Serbia
Many EU states are in “a direct war” with Russia and are “angry” with Belgrade for refusing to go along with sanctions, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference two days after attending a meeting between the 27 EU leaders and six heads of government from the West Balkans, Vucic claimed the Balkans “were not important that day” for the EU, as the bloc is “completely at war with Russia” and its priority was to provide Ukraine and Moldova with EU candidate status.

Major migrant influx into EU enclave ends in deaths
RT World News (RSS)
27 people have been killed in a stampede over the border between former Spanish colony and a tiny enclave
More than two dozen migrants have died in a stampede while trying to cross into the Spanish enclave Melilla from Morocco, that country’s Association for Human Rights (AMDH) announced on Friday evening.
Around 2,000 migrants, many from Sudan, tried to cross a guarded border fence at dawn on Friday. Harrowing images, published by AMDH, show people lying on the pavement next to the border control area, some with blood-covered hands and torn clothes.

A Lemming Leading the Lemmings: Slavoj Zizek and the Terminal Collapse of the Anti-War Left
Strategic Culture Foundation (RSS)

Have you noticed how every major foreign policy crisis since the U.S. and U.K.’s invasion of Iraq in 2003 has peeled off another layer of the left into joining the pro-NATO, pro-war camp?
It is now hard to remember that many millions marched in the U.S. and Europe against the attack on Iraq. It sometimes feels like there is no one left who is not cheerleading the next wave of profits for the West’s military-industrial complex (usually referred to as the “defense industry” by those very same profiteers).

The End of the European Colonial Powers, The Tyranny of Physics

By Tom LUONGO
I sat down last weekend for a long chat with Alexander Mercouris of The Duran and Crypto Rich to discuss the rapidly evolving situation in Europe. Long time readers know that I’ve been handicapping the collapse of the European Union for years.
That idea isn’t based on my personal antipathy for Eurotrash commies and eugenicists, though it is quite large. In fact, the deeper we go into 2022 the more that antipathy rises to near unquenchable levels. The sheer arrogance and stupidity of Europe’s leadership is nothing short of b...

US lawmakers attempt to declare Ukraine conflict a ‘genocide’ – media
RT World News (RSS)
While the representatives symbolically accuse Russia of ethnic cleansing, the charges are dubious
A bipartisan group of US lawmakers introduced a resolution on Friday accusing Russia of committing “genocide” in Ukraine. The draft resolution reportedly accuses Russia of crimes that Moscow says were actually committed by Ukrainian forces and claims that Russian-speaking refugees were brought to Russian territory against their will.
The resolution, entitled ‘Recognizing Russian actions in Ukraine as a genocide,’ was introduced by Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tennessee) on Friday. While i...

US Now International ‘Outlier’ – Biden
President Joe Biden claimed on Friday that a Supreme Court ruling restricting abortion access has made the US “an outlier among developed nations.” However, while some states have pressed ahead with banning the procedure, others are writing laws in line with other wealthy nations, and Democratic-run states are pushing far more permissive policies than many European countries.
Biden addressed the nation after the Supreme Court struck down Roe v Wade, a 1973 ruling that guaranteed the absolute right to a first-trimester abortion and limited rights in the second. Writing the majority opinion, Justice Samuel Alito argued that Roe v Wade rested on an “egregiously wrong” and “exceptionally weak” interpretation of the Constitution, and that by striking down this ruling, the court would “return the issue of abortion” to state...
