Chinaโs Xi Blasts Western Sanctions on Russia as 'Self-Harming'
Chinese President Xi Jinping slammed US and EU sanctions against Russia, stating Western powers were "weaponising" the world economy to hurt people around the globe.
Speaking at the BRICS Business Forum he referenced the apparent backlash anti-Russia pressure had on the nations imposing it, describing sanctions as boomerangs and double-edged swords.
"Facing the turmoil and instability in the world, we should keep firmly in mind the original aspiration of the UN Charter, as well as our mission to promote peace," Xi added.

Prices for gasoline and diesel in the UK reached record highs over the past week. The average price of gas reaching $2.32 a liter. (RAC)
โA full tank of petrol for a 55-liter family car now costs nearly ยฃ104 ($127) while the diesel equivalent is almost ยฃ108 ($132),โ RAC fuel spox said.
Britainโs continuing rise in fuel costs is worsening its current cost-of-living crisis - the situation exacerbated by this weekโs railway strikes in the UK.
