Most Europeans say they see membership of the EU as a โgood thing,โ according to the latest Eurobarometer survey published by the blocโs parliament on Wednesday. Nearly two-thirds of respondents said they were in support of being part of the European Union, marking the highest result in 15 years.

Israeli firm NSO admitted to the European Parliament committee Tuesday that they โmade mistakesโ, but canceled a contract for Pegasus spyware with one EU country that had abused the surveillance technology.
NSO Chief Counsel Chaim Garland said, โat least 5โ EU countries had used Pegasus, but that he would need to come back with a โmore concrete numberโ.
Reports of Pegasus being used to target political opponents in Spain, Poland and Hungary prompted the investigation, with calls to regulate the software that NSO admit they canโt control its use.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that banks from BRICS nations can freely connect to the System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS), Russiaโs alternative to SWIFT.
According to Putin, financial institutions in Brazil, India, China and South Africa can now be connected to SPFS
SPFS has similar functionality to SWIFT and allows transmission of messages between financial institutions in the same format. It was created by the Bank of Russia as an alternative to the Belgium-based system in 2014, when Moscow was hit with Western sanctions over the conflict in Ukraine.
