Australiaโ€™s Left Edges Senate Control

Following Mondayโ€™s final distribution of vote preferences, PM Anthony Albanese managed to cling onto power in the Senate as his Labor and Australian Greens clinched 38 of 76 seats.

The US president said the outcome would be decided by how much damage each side is prepared to sustain in the Ukraine conflict

The confrontation between Europe and Russia over Ukraine is likely to turn into a โ€œwaiting game,โ€ US President Joe Biden has said.

After delivering his speech on Covid-19 vaccines for children under five in the White House on Tuesday, Biden was asked by a journalist if he was โ€œafraidโ€ there was a fracture emerging among Ukraineโ€™s Western allies. The reporter quoted British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who recently spoke of โ€œUkraine fatigue,โ€ a...

The US Supreme Court declines to review a ruling linking the herbicide Roundup to cancer, exposing the manufacturer to litigation

The US Supreme Court rejected on Tuesday an appeal filed by German chemical giant Bayer to overturn a landmark ruling linking the weedkiller Roundup with cancer. The company faces thousands of similar claims, which have plagued it since it acquired Roundup manufacturer Monsanto in 2018.

The US court declined to review the case of a man from California, Edwin Hardeman, who was awarded $25 million in damages. He used Roundup for 26 years at his home before being diagnosed with a form...
