Strategic Culture Foundation (RSS)

By Tyler DURDEN

Update (1100ET): The Russian Foreign Ministry has responded to Lithuaniaโ€™s partial blockade of Kaliningrad, writing in a statement that they consider the โ€œprovocative measuresโ€ to be โ€œopenly hostileโ€ and warning that the Kremlin may take action to โ€œprotect its national interests.โ€

Kaliningrad is sandwiched between the EU and NATO members Poland and Lithuania. Supplies from Russia are delivered via rail and gas pipelines through Lithuania โ€“ which announced last week that it was banning the rail transit of goods subject to EU sancti...

Roy Jones Jr Offers to Fight Klitschko in Russia-Ukraine Row

Roy Jones Jr has hit back at fellow boxing Hall of Famer Wladimir Klitschko after the Ukrainian questioned the American's "moral compass" due to him taking Russian citizenship in 2015.

Jones went on to say that if he were a "president, senator, or politician", then he would be qualified to argue with Klitschko โ€“ whose brother Vitali is the mayor of Kiev in addition to an ex-heavyweight champion himself โ€“ on the topic.

"If you think you can whoop me, that's a whole different thing. I do still box for a living," Jones pointed out.

Caravan of Dreams / 2019

In June 2022, some 6,000 migrants set off from Mexico in one of the largest caravans bound for the United States. Over the last four years, migrant caravans have become a common phenomenon. Men, women and children from Central and South America trek hundreds of kilometres on foot across multiple borders. As a result, hundreds of thousands are caught at the doorstep of the US, but migrants remain undeterred and keep marching towards a safer life in the United States.

June 20 is World Refugee Day. Watch this documentary to learn why people are forced to leave their homes.

UK Set for Biggest Rail Strike in 30yrs

The mass industrial action is set to paralyze Britainโ€™s rail network from Monday night as 40,000 RMT union members stage three 24hr walkouts that will see 1 in 5 trains run on strike days.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has refused to join talks claiming the dispute is between employees and their companies, but unions claim his department controls contracts and funding while rail operators have been told they canโ€™t offer pay rises.

Shapps accused union leaders, who are protesting a salary freeze during rocketing inflation, of โ€œgunning for a fightโ€ that will โ€œpunish millions of peopleโ€.

British lawmakers passing the buck? Well, I never.

Russian Food and Fertilizers are Free from Sanctions - EU

Anyone who wants to buy Russian food and fertilizers can do so freely and without the fear of sanctions, EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell said Monday.

โ€œOur sanctions donโ€™t target food, donโ€™t target fertilizers. Everyone that wants to buy Russian food and fertilizers, they can do it, no obstacles... so they can operate, they can buy, they can transfer, they can insure,โ€ Borrell told the press.

However, EU sanctions do target Russian shipping, preventing the countryโ€™s grain and fertilizers from being delivered to the global market. This has led to a growing food crisis, with wheat prices surging to record highs over the past two months.

Japanโ€™s Same-sex Marriage Ban NOT Unconstitutional โ€“ Court Rules

An Osaka court has ruled Monday that banning same-sex marriage is not unconstitutional in the countryโ€™s second-ever such case, after a March 2021 decision of a Sapporo court had ruled it was.

Three couples were seeking central government action and $7,400 damages each; the court rejected both, ruling marriage was defined as being between opposite genders.

Japan does not allow legal rights to inherit each otherโ€™s assets, share parental rights over children, or to marry, but a Tokyo govt poll last year found 70% want same-sex marriage legalized.

One Goldman Sachs leader claimed there could be financial motivations for reversing the current legal stance. "International businesses don't want to invest in a location that isn't LGBTQ-friendly."
