โ€œSo why leave the band?,โ€ Marshall wrote on Medium

โ€œOn the eve of his leaving to the West, Solzhenitsyn published an essay titled โ€˜Live Not By Liesโ€™. I have read it many times now since the incident at the start of March. It still profoundly stirs me:

โ€˜And he who is not sufficiently courageous to defend his soul โ€” donโ€™t let him be proud of his โ€˜progressiveโ€™ views, and donโ€™t let him boast that he is an academician or a peopleโ€™s artist, a distinguished figure or a general. Let him say to himself: I am a part of the herd and a coward. Itโ€™s all the same to me as long as Iโ€™m fed and kept warm.โ€™

FULL BLOWN WAR?? British Army chief warns of potential UK-Russia conflict

Britainโ€™s Chief of the Defence Staff, General Nick Carter, has said after the Defender incident that a miscalculation in the cat-and-mouse game with Russia could lead to a "full blown war," the Telegraph reports.

After admitting the tension โ€œkeeps [him] awake in bed at nightโ€, he explained that the situation was a โ€œclassic example of a battle of the narrativesโ€.

โ€œThe jury is out as to who won that battle,โ€ he added.

After the tense confrontation in the Black Sea this week, Gen Carter admitted that opponents and their technology are โ€œevolving at paceโ€, making the UK โ€œsomewhat vulnerableโ€.
