❗️EU's Dire Economic Warning
The European Union has slashed its economic growth forecast. According to the European Commission, GDP growth in the bloc will be around 2.7% in 2022, down from a 4% forecast three months ago.
Growth has been slowed by sanctions imposed on Russia and disruptions to energy supplies. "The war is exacerbating pre-existing headwinds to growth, which were previously expected to subside,” a report said.
The biggest hit to economies will come through energy commodity prices, which will continue to exacerbate inflation.

Fukushima Nuclear Water Dump Given Initial Green Light
Japan’s Nuclear Regulation Authority has granted initial approval for the destroyed Fukushima plant’s operators to proceed with plans to start dumping treated water into the sea.
Public consultations and permissions from local authorities and fishermen are required before a tunnel would be built into the sea to dispose of filtered down nuclear waste water.
The UN atomic watchdog assured Tokyo’s industry minister that their reviews would “give the world confidence” that the disposed water would have no effect on public health.

TV crew recounts surviving shelling in DPR
A camera crew, including Ruptly stringer Viktor Miroshnikov and RT journalists Valentin Gorshenin and Vladimir Batalin, were hit by a shelling at a petrol station near Dokuchaevsk, in Donetsk People's Republic on Friday.
"Once I landed, I realised that it was not a blast wave (as the blast wave doesn't come pointed), so I realised that a shell had hit me", Miroshnikov said. The reporter Valentin Gorshenin 'reacted immediately' and provided the first aid to the injured crew members.
Another man who was at the petrol station died immediately. "Shrapnel hit in the jaw and came out the other side. Literally few seconds passed and he died", the reporter said.
