New polling suggests an increasingly bleak state of personal finance for Germans in the face of sanctions against Russia. The trend is echoed, albeit less severely, in France and Spain as the EU struggles to rearrange its economy in order to punish Moscow.

More than half of Germans say they are poorer than they were a year ago, a precipitous 11-point rise from the first package of EU measures punishing Russia for its assault on Ukraine, according to surveys held in February and May by global decision intelligence firm Mornin...

Victor Orban pledged to steer his country away from the “suicidal waves” of the West

On Monday, Orban took his oath of office after being elected in April for a fourth consecutive term. In his usual manner, the premier did not spare harsh statements when addressing parliament.

“Brussels is abusing its power every day, and it wants to force on us things we don’t want,” the prime minister said.

US to Remove 5 Extremist Groups from Terror Blacklist

Washington is dropping five - believed-to-be inactive - extremist groups from its terrorism list, some of which are responsible for hundreds of deaths across Asia and Europe.

The ‘whitelisted’ groups include the Basque separatist group ETA, the Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo, the radical Jewish group Kahane Kach and two Middle-Eastern Islamist organizations.

According to State Sec. Anthony Blinken, the decision to remove the groups from terror watch lists was made after a mandated review of their operative status, which is required every five years.
