Britain’s Minister for Safeguarding, Rachel Maclean, told Sky News on Monday that those struggling with the cost-of-living crisis should work more hours or move to a better-paid job. The Labour Party accused her of being “disconnected from the realities of people's lives.”
Maclean promised that the government would provide “more help” to people struggling with food and energy bills, but that in the meantime, people should help themselves....

EU Remains Split On Russian Oil Embargo - Payments Allowed
Europe is still divided on the proposed embargo on Russian oil after 10 days of talks, with Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Bulgaria among those against the plan.
The bloc has informed companies they can make payments in USD or Euros to Gazprombank accounts, without breaching sanctions placed on the entity.
EU Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell has admitted he wasn’t sure the situation could be “deblocked."

UK Greenpeace Activists Arrested For Blocking 33,000-Ton Russian Diesel Shipment
A Greek-registered ship delivering 33,000 tons of Russian diesel had to divert after a dozen Greenpeace activists broke into the Navigator terminals in southeast England.
Eight protesters were arrested as the organization claimed the UK could see 8.5MN people in fuel poverty by October.
Possibly not helping the poverty situation? As long as their stance isn’t disrupted, that’s fine then.
