UK MP Doubles Down on Britons using Food Banks because they "Can't Cook"

Conservative MP Lee Anderson has refused to apologize for his โ€œcommon senseโ€ comments that poor people depend on food banks because they donโ€™t have the education to budget or cook properly.

Anderson - who claimed almost $270,000 in expenses last year - said with โ€œthe right education, they would be able to fend for themselvesโ€ adding he was โ€œglad itโ€™s caused all this fussโ€ because it sparks debate.

Opposition lawmakers slammed his โ€œdisgracefulโ€ comments as a sign of how out of touch the UKโ€™s ruling party is with the cost-of-living crisis.

North Korea: 6 DEATHS From โ€œExplosiveโ€ Outbreak

State media has reported six killed - one death from Omicron Covid - and 350,000 infections of a rabid fever that has spread through North Korea. It comes a day after confirming coronavirus cases for the first time.

KCNA claimed about 187,000 were still in isolation, but was vague about how many were specifically Covid infections.

The April 25 military parade which packed tens of thousands into Kim Il Sung Square could be a major factor behind the outbreak. South Korea, China and Russia have offered to supply vaccines if requested.

President Ignazio Cassis demanded Sec State Anthony Blinked directly correct the misleading impression from govt-backed commission accusations that Switzerland had become a โ€œleading enabler of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin."

Swiss banks reportedly hold around $213 billion in Russian wealth, but laws dictate they must release funds if the specific origin of the funds cannot be categorically ascertained.
