No-Deal Brexit Returns? EU Could Cut Up UK Trade
Foreign Sec. Liz Truss has suggested the British govt is prepared to ignore EU deal commitments for trade between Britain and Northern Ireland.
Boris Johnson’s predecessor as PM, Theresa May, warned about “what such a move would say about the United Kingdom and its willingness to abide by treaties...” while Brussels has threatened to rip up the trade deal altogether.
Truss cited “more checks, paperwork and disruption” were failing to address the “real issues” in Northern Ireland.
