Siberian wildfires cause devastation and deaths (VIDEO)
At least seven people have died in massive wildfires which raged through parts of Siberia on Saturday, Russian media has reported, citing emergency services.
17 people were reportedly injured in the fires, and 14 have been hospitalized, according to TASS news agency. Russiaโs Krasnoyarsk region was also buffeted by high winds on Saturday and its capital, Krasnoyarsk, even witnessed a dust storm.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Ukraine on Sunday to pledge support and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky, while US First Lady Jill Biden made a separate trip to meet with Zelenskyโs wife.
While US President Joe Biden has not traveled to Ukraine, visiting Kiev has become a rite of passage for other Western leaders.
Trudeauโs trip, which was not announced beforehand, saw him tour the battle-scarred Kiev suburb of Irpen and raise his countryโs flag over the newly-reopened Canadian embassy in Kiev, ahead of a scheduled meeting with Zelensky.

A senator from Australia's ruling coalition has been criticized two weeks before the May 21 federal election, after he thanked the Chinese-Australians for โputting up with racism.โ
Addressing participants at the Chinese Australian Forum on Friday, the Liberal Party senator for New South Wales Andrew Bragg admitted that, amid the coronavirus pandemic and tensions in bilateral relations with Beijing, his country has seen an increase in the number of racist incidents involving Chinese nationals.

German industry reels from anti-Russian sanctions
German industrial production dropped more than expected in March, data released on Friday by the countryโs statistics office shows. According to Destatis, Covid-related supply chain issues have been exacerbated by the conflict in Ukraine.
Production slid by 3.9% last month following a 0.1% increase in February, far outstripping expectations of a one-percent decline. On an annual basis, industrial output slumped by 3.5% in March following a 3.1% jump the month before.
